In the center of Mazari Sharif, there is a mosque and sanctuary called the Shrine of Hazrat Ali. Others call it the Blue Mosque. In English, Mazari Sharif means Noble Shrine.
Kunduz is another city that is definitely included in the list of cities in Afghanistan. Kunduz may also be spelled as Qhunduz and is found in the northern part of the country. In 2002, the population was estimated to be ninety five thousand. Such number of population may already be considered notable as its population in 1979 was reported to be fifty three thousand two hundred fifty one only.
